The Influence of Blogging

Published by Brunold on Di, 02/09/2016 - 15:41 in

AlternativeChat's celebrating seven years of blogging this month, and while I suck at taking screenshots (of moments that I deem to be of any emotional significance at least), there's something I want to contribute and that's this blog post.

Deathwing – Aspect of Arbitrarity

About the shit that's going on

Not everything I am going to write has been completely thought through. I am trying to comprehend, what is bothering me and how it could be solved. For that reason I have to put it into words. Here is your chance to company me on my journey through some very complex topics. I will keep it very informal and that means: The article is about as NSFW as you can get. This will mostly be what pops up in my mind. You could say, it is a modified stream of consciousness.

So, the alpha patch notes...

Going By the Books

Lore is something really important to me. In most cases it is, what I am paying for, when I buy a game. The lore of World of Warcraft is no exception for me, although a lot of other mechanisms come into play. There is a lot at odds with lore in Azeroth right now.

That should not be a surprise. For starters, the lore here is the lore of Warcraft, not just as an MMO, but as a franchise. It also includes books, three RTS-games and online short stories. The tasks of lore in WoW are complex. We have different worlds and planes, which the player should experience as one entity. The more the complexity of a system increases, the more the probability of mistakes increases.

But we can do better. There are a lot of things I dislike right now and things I need feedback for (because I am curious, you know?).
